Bekasi, 22 October 2025 — The growing excitement among Bekasi residents for authentic Japanese beef katsu has finally been answered. Japan’s number-one specialist beef katsu restaurant, Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu, has officially opened its sixth Indonesian outlet at La Spezia, BCBD Summarecon Bekasi. This opening marks a strategic expansion to introduce an authentic Japanese dining experience to more customers in Indonesia.

Founded in Kyoto in 2014, Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu has now expanded to more than 80 locations across nine countries. In Indonesia, the brand caters to professionals, families, and Japanese culinary enthusiasts who seek premium-quality beef katsu.

“The opening of our sixth outlet reflects strong demand for high-quality beef katsu. We continue to elevate our service standards to create an unforgettable dining experience. All our menu items are free from pork and lard,” said Timbul, Brand Manager of Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu Indonesia.

Carrying the slogan “Beyond Ordinary Katsu,” the restaurant serves premium beef cuts such as Australian Wagyu, Tenderloin, Sirloin, and Chuck Flap Tail. Each cut is fried using Kyoto’s signature technique and served at a medium-rare doneness for a juicy, tender, and rich flavor. For guests who prefer a different level of doneness, a personal grill is provided at each table. The restaurant also uses a special panko that is ten times thinner than regular breadcrumbs, creating a crispy coating that does not overpower the natural flavor of the beef.

In addition to its signature beef katsu, Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu offers other varieties such as Salmon Katsu, Ebi Katsu, and Tori Katsu, along with specialty dishes like Katsu-Ni served with soft-boiled egg and warm dashi broth. Guests can also enjoy half-and-half set menus to savor two katsu types in one serving.

What sets Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu apart is its lineup of homemade sauces and condiments, including Fresh Wasabi, Kyoto-Style Curry, Pink Tartar Sauce, and Citrus Soy Sauce with Japanese Radish, each enhancing the flavor profile of every dish.

The restaurant showcases a contemporary minimalist Japanese design dominated by natural wood elements with traditional accents. Large windows allow natural sunlight to brighten the space, creating a fresh and relaxing dining ambiance. The outlet features two dining zones: an indoor seating area with a capacity of 100 guests on the first floor and 24 guests on the second floor, as well as an outdoor area for 38 guests. This creates a comfortable and flexible environment for different occasions, whether dining with family, enjoying a business lunch, or gathering casually with friends.
